Prayer for Ryan
Hello Hubbers,
Some of you know me some of you don't, if you know me then no doubt you have heard of or met Ryan. Ryan and I grew up together in a place called Eden Prairie Minnesota. He's always been a big part of my life but especially the past couple years, I love him very much. Ryan is back in Minnesota right now in a coma, he has severe meningitis. He wouldn't even have made it to the hospital if his roommates hadn't been home when he lost his motor-functions. Praise God for his perfect timing. As of right now I don't know if he is going to survive, his brain is so swollen they are keeping him in a coma until 1. the swelling goes down or 2. he can be kept calm enough when they bring him out to do some testing.
I am flying back to Minnesota tonight to be with him either way it goes, please pray for Ryan and his family.
Thank you,
Sara

Alice wants ONE thing for Christmas!
Dear Hub Friends, I am having a merry old time in the middle of nowhere California with some fantastic friends. As you know my dear friend Ehren Addis is stubborn, & I must enlist the help of others. I asked him for one thing for Christmas, and he said no. He feels that by giving me this one thing, people will look at him funny. I have assured him, they will not look at him funny, because a gift of love is a Godly thing, & there is no shame in loving your brothers & sisters in Christ. Therefore, I hope you all call him & tell him that the simple humble Christmas gift I've asked for should be a joy in his heart to give.
As some of you know, I'm awesome. And as much as I care about my dear friend Ehren, he owns nothing but Khaki & black, & hasn't a single logo or design on any of his shirts to exude his own awesomeness from within, which of course tarnishes my awesomeness by association. tee heee heeee! haha! Oh, I crack myself up. Anyhow, I've persuaded him to grow a goatee before, but he always shaves it after a week. So I asked for Christmas that he would grow out that blessed bush of hair beneath his chin so that when we're out in public, his face is an unkempt furry ball of fantasticness, which will of course reflect my own awesomeness a little more clearly. 2 months is all I asked for. I figured that's enough time for him to get used to being awesome, & realize that a goatee is the bodacious look he's been searching for his entire life (unconsciously). He's spending the day in prayer & thought over this request. You should help him along! Guide him towards the right & caring course of action! Cuz our God is an awesome God! And since he made us in His image, I'm pretty sure that means we're supposed to be awesome, too. Right? Tee hee! Yay! Hahahahahaha! Oh I kill me! hahahaha! Ok, go in peace my friends.
Love & Blessings on the day the son of God was born. May it be joyous & holy in every way! Love from from me in the middle of nowhere California, Your awesome friend, Alice

Prayer Support
Hello my name is "GirlforGod"
God will know who this is so it is of little relevance to add a name here.
I am in some trouble right now as I am very sick and have been living in an abusive situation which is only making my condition worse.
I have tried changing some things but it has not worked.
Verbal and emotional abuse can be worse than abuse of a physical nature as it slowly destroys someone piece by piece, moment by moment and I have slowly been becoming undone.
I prayed a few minutes ago and felt God responding back to me which was comforting.
God told me tonight that everything will work out alright if I place myself in His hands and we can begin again right now.
I know I am all his now I guess I just wanted to know that someone out there in our group was praying because I just didn't want to feel alone in this tonight.
I just needed to know someone cares. Though I feel it important I remain anonymous and I think God wishes it to be that way.

friday @ 1
I am meeting with a high school student today at 1 to give her some godly advice and counsel about what to do with all the sexual peer pressure she has been dealing with mainly from one guy in particular. I have a lot of ideas of what to say to her, but would prefer to let the Lord lead my words to reach her heart. I would appreciate any and all prayers. Thank you!!!

Pray for Chile
A good friend of mine, Josh Philips, from my old church is moving back to Chile to restart a church in the city of Quilpue. It's been a vision for a long time and finally happening! I know he would appreciate any prayers and certainly for the people of the city they will be reaching! He leaves next week. There is a little video [HERE] that talks about the plans. Thanks!

Follow up to prayer request
| Thank you all for praying for my family and I. My father passed away on Monday, October 26th. I wanted to give some background on my dad's health crisis and tell just one story of God's faithfulness through this. This is long - sorry. My dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease a little over 5 years ago. I don't remember exactly how long ago it was. My sister was married in June of 2005 and I remember my dad already feeling the affects of Parkinson's at that time. He was really nervous about the father/bride dance because his balance was being affected by the disease. In the beginning of this year, my dad was also diagnosed with ALS, also commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, but the doctor said that the Parkinson's was the greater concern. When my dad was admitted to the hospital this past Sunday, this was the fifth time within the last year that he has had pneumonia. Three months ago he was put on a G tube - feedings go straight to the stomach. You see one of the symptoms of Parkinson's was difficulty in swallowing. He eventually was unable to regulate food, drink, or even saliva going to his stomach. Saliva and anything else was getting into his lungs. Because of how the disease progresses, my dad made his wish known to our family a while ago that he did not want to go through extraordinary means to keep him alive. He signed an advanced directive of DNR (Do Not Ressussitate). On Sunday afternoon, my mom found that my dad was not breathing and his lips purple. She immediately called 911. When the paramedics and firefighters arrived, in her frantic state, my mom was unable to find the advanced directive. That was God showing his faithfulness. My mom was alone with my dad at the time. Though I had moved back home, I was out of the house at the time. My sister visited that day but she had just left to go back to her home in Sherman Oaks. My brother lives in the bay area. I received a couple of frantic voice messages of my mom on the call to 911 on the land line while calling me on her cell phone. By the time I arrived to my parents, my dad had already been loaded onto the ambulance and they were about to leave for Simi Valley Hospital. What a blessing in disguise, without the advanced directive the paramedics had to do everything within their means to keep my dad alive. Otherwise my mom would have been the only one by my dad's side during his last moments which would have been even more traumatizing to my mom; the next time my sister, brother and I would have seen my dad would have been when he had already passed. My brother grabbed the earliest flight back and eventually that evening the whole family was together and able to tell my dad that we loved him. Oh, and I was able to find the advanced directive exactly where my mom said she had looked. The next morning a neurologist came and made a diagnosis of my dad's condition and that was when we as a family made the decision (now that we had the advanced directive) to remove the ventilator. We were together as a family. We cried together. We comforted each other. And we said our last goodbyes. That was a blessing - to do it together. Disease is not a reflection that God does not exist, on the contrary. This small part of my dad's story shows how involved God was in our lives. Romans 8:28 says "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Exclamation, Exclamation, Exclamation!!! I testify to that. Thank you all again for your prayers. Love, Johnny Liu (jldude1000@yahoo.com) |

prayer request for surgery on Wednesday, April 22nd
Hi, this is Johnny. Yes, I'm the guy with the mullet. I'm sure you've already been praying for me to look in the mirror ;) but I actually have something else I'd like to ask prayer for. I'm having surgery on Wednesday, April 22nd. The procedure is considered a minimally invasive technique to fix an irregular heartbeat (it's been measured up to 250 bpm). This is a procedure with a very high success rate (98-99%) but since it involves the heart, I am nervous. Please pray for a successful procedure and for God to replace my nervousness with peace. Thanks, Johnny Liu |

Fw: Sheryl Lynn Update from Diane Henderson
Hello Friends.
I just talked with Curtis and wanted to send out an update regarding Sheryl Lynn and the rest of the Johnson family.
First off, Curtis expressed much appreciation for all of our prayers, cards, well wishes and offers of support! Thank you :)
Today, a specialist is supposed to visit the hospital around noon to discuss next steps and help to put together a game plan for surgery. Curtis mentioned that they discussed a possible stabilization surgery for today and then further reconstructive surgery at a later time, however nothing has been formally decided as of yet. When there is further timing information, he will send out another update so we can all be praying. Yesterday, the doctors put on a larger, more stabilizing splint. Evidently it made a ton of difference in Sheryl's comfort levels - YAY! Until we know more, let's be praying for Dr. Turk and his recommendations - that God would guide his judgement and that sound decisions will be made for next steps. Also, we can pray for comfort and rest for Sheryl and rest for Curtis, Thomas, Connor and all of the rest of their concerned family.
Lastly, many of us have lovingly offered to bring meals for the Johnsons. Curtis expressed their appreciation. It looks like, at this time, they are well covered as far as food is concerned. Next week, when the boys go back to school and their schedule returns to the normal craziness, there will definitely be a need for meals. I will send out an email a bit later for anyone who would like to sign up for grocery runs or meals :)
Until then, Blessings to you today :)

Fw: Prayer- Sheryl Lynn and Curtis
Good Morning Everyone.
We have an urgent prayer request this morning for the Johnson family - particularly Sheryl Lynn. Last night she was riding Nacho - their horse - and he threw her off. The result was a broken leg, broken pelvis and a dislocated knee. Unfortunately, surgery will have to wait. They may need to change hospitals (to Ucla or USC) to find a specialist who is not on vacation. She's at Los Robles resting between the pain.

Let's all be praying for Sheryl Lynn's pain level, as well as for the doctors' and surgeons' steady hands as they put her leg back together again and get her to a place where she can come home. Also, let's be praying for peace for Curtis, Thomas, Connor and all of the busy family schedule stuff that is happening this time of year - that God will work it all out perfectly.
Bless you guys,

Loosing Health Ins.
Would like to ask for prayer. I am out on workers Comp. and My company is telling me that if I do not go back to work by Mid to late July I will loose my Health Ins. My Dr. does not want me to return to work until I am healed from my shoulder operation. I have a time limit on how long I can be out for until I loose my Health Ins. An from what I am being told by my H.R. Department that my time limit is all most up. I don't know how Workers Comp. really works so I don't know if they could do this. I would like to ask for prayer that I do not loose my Health Ins. and that my H.R. Department or Company can existent it until I am able to go back to work. |

Prayer
Please pray for my mom and my stepfather. They are going through a REALLY bad time and see divorce as their only option. Specifically, my mom needs prayer for comfort, clarity, and staying focused on God (she's a new believer). My stepfather needs prayer to be saved.
Thank you,
Paige
